Mac Consumer Network Installation
This service is suitable for any consumer looking to install a network at home.
Enjoy the new possibilities that network sharing can open up, without having to worry about the complexities of getting it all up and running. Your home network will be installed and configured by an experienced technician.
With your new network you can look forward to:
- Sharing your internet connection with any Mac on your network
- Making full use of your printer by using it on Mac on your network
- Chat to each other using iSight and iChat AV*
- Playing games against another Mac in the home for the ultimate head-to-head gaming experience
- Access your photos, video and music files from any Mac
- 28 day's telephone support providing troubleshooting advice
*iSight not included, iChat AV requires Mac OS X 10.3 or later
What is included:
- Installing AirPort cards, access points, soho routers, unmanaged switches/hubs, network cards, ADSL/Cable modems (purchased separately)
- Set up of file and print sharing on a peer-to-peer network for 2 Macs and 1 printer
- Configuring wireless security settings on wireless networks
- Set-up of internet connection sharing (Client to supply ISP details)
- Configure Safari and Mail programs on Macs (Client to supply ISP details)
- Demonstration of the network functionality
- 28 days Telephone Support
- Install within normal working hours 9am - 5pm
What is excluded:
- Prices are based on installation within UK mainland only
- No Installations to commercial premises
- Prices are based on unrestricted access on site during the installation and waiting time would be charged at normal rates
- No hard-wired cabling
- Installation of any network hardware not specified in inclusions
- All Server hardware and operating systems
- Installation or configuration of software other than pre installed or installed by us at the time of installation
- Connection of existing peripherals or other equipment other than a sole printer or print server
- Transfer of software from the network or legacy Macs
- Removal of packaging
- Installation of any upgrades
- The client must provide their own ISP and telephony infrastructure
- The client must ensure that any Macs setup under this service have an appropriate network card
- An on-site engineer visit to repair hardware (available at extra cost).
